Hali Bekofsky Hali is twenty years old and was born and raised on Long Island, New York. She is now a senior jazz major at The
University of the Arts. She was trained at competition schools on Long Island, studying all forms of dance. Hali won many
regional and national titles throughout her competition years. She participated in a number of summer intensives at Broadway
Dance Center, not only as a student, but as a counselor as well. In May of 2007 she attended the David Parsons summer
program in NYC. Hali considers herself a jazz and contemporary dancer, and this is her third season with Xhale.
Leanne Elizebath Grieger This
is Leannes third season with Xhale. Leanne is originally from Long Island, NewYork. She attended Rocky Point High School and
graduated with an Advanced Regents Diploma in 2006. Leanne started her dance training at Backstreets Dance Center in 1991,
when she was 3 years old. She also trained at The Alvin Ailey School, Broadway Dance Center, Peridance Center and the Martha
Graham Center of Contemporary Dance. Leanne was accepted into the University of the Arts in 2006 with a Promising Artist Award
Scholarship, where she is currently a senior modern major.
Katie Rafferty Katie is a senior Jazz major at the University
of the Arts. She is originally from Trevose, Pa, where she grew up dancing for fifteen years at "Kay's Act II".
Katie attended The Rock School Ballet Intensive, as well as working at Sesame Place during her summers. She has participated
in numerous competitions and conventions, including Tremaine Convention, where she was a scholarship winner. Katie is
a graduate of Neshaminy High School, where she was an active member in choir and various musicals. Katie has the leading roll
of Clara, in her studios version of "The Nutcracker, All Jazzed Up." Katie is honored to be a part of the start
of a new company, and thanks Michael for his time and dedication he put into the show. She also looks forward to working with
the rest of the talented company, for many years to come.
Kimberly Gant (Rehearsal Director) Kimberly was born and raised in the beautiful Cape May, New Jersy. She began her dance training at the Jersey Cape
Dance & Gymnastics Academy at the age of 3, where she studied jazz, tap, ballet, lyrical, pointe and gymnastics. She has
won numerous awards, competing in the world of competitive dance. Along with her extensive dance background, Kimberly also
has a background in musical theatre. Her credits include, Les Miserables, The Mystery of Edwin Drood (Edwin Drood), Damn Yankees
(Lola) and Godspell (Robin). She also performed in A Christmas Carol and Beauty and the Beast with the Shaken Not Stirred
Players, a local theatre group in Ocean City, NJ. She is currently a 21 year old senior majoring in jazz dance and minoring
in musical theatre at The University of the Arts. She enjoys spending time with family, friends, her boyfriend Matthew, going
to the beach and playing Wii. Her future goals include moving to the outside of NYC and performing on Broadway!
Lauren Long Lauren is from Fairfax Station, Virginia where she danced for 16 years with Buffa’s Dance Studio. She has participated
and competed in numerous competitions and conventions, including Dance Makers Inc. where she was a National Solo Winner. Over
the past few summers, Lauren has danced with The Richmond Ballet, The American Academy of Ballet, Point Park University, Virginia
School of the Arts, and NYCDA. She also performed with the Burke Civic Ballet’s Nutcracker, dancing lead roles such
as Clara, Dew Drop, and Snow Queen. Over the past three years Lauren has also performed in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day
Parade, the London New Year’s Day Parade, and the Paris New Year’s Day Parade. Lauren is currently a sophomore
Dance Major at The University of the Arts where she plans to earn a BFA in Jazz Dance Performance. This is Lauren's first
season with Xhale.
