Michael Susten’s Xhale Dance Company is based in the heart of Philadelphia.
Now entering its sixth season, Xhale continues to keep audiences coming back for its unique and entertaining shows. Michael
pulls different choreographers and live musicians from around the city to help bring his vision to life. The Xhale company
members are made up of a diverse group of dancers coming from different technical backgrounds, allowing Michael to showcase
a wide variety of styles. Focusing on Contemporary jazz, Xhale includes Modern, Jazz, Tap and Musical Theatre into their shows
as well. The Company has performed in the Philadelphia Fringe Festival, and showcased in the Choreographers Canvas in NYC.
Xhale has worked with many guest performers such as- Katie Thompson, Natalie Weiss, Billy Larson, Teddy Tedholm,
Peter Sabasino, Brad Greer, Joey Contreras, Kelly Turner, Michael Linden and many more. The company attends many fundraisers
and charity events throughout the year. They have volunteered at The D for Degas Event, The PA Ballet, USArtists & The
Philadelphia Marathon. This past year Xhale produced “Dancing for Relief”- a charity event where all of
the proceeds went towards the Haiti devastation.
Xhale gives back to the community as much as they can,
and can be seen teaching master classes at studios and high schools, delivering the message of the importance of having something
a positive outlet like dance in their lives. All of the Xhale dancers have, or are in the process of earning a college degree. Xhale's
mission is to spread the word that not all dancers have to fit a certain stereotype. Its unique and entertaing shows are what
keeps the audience comming back and wanting more.
